Hazardous Waste Management
The increasing occurrences of NORM contaminated equipment from oil & gas processing, mining, and other related industries are bringing lots of new cleaning challenges in normal operations and decommissioning. Products such as DecomClear® NORM STRIP, DecomClear® NORM BIND and DecomClear® NORM Filter are designed to combat these challenges.
Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM) refers to materials that contain radioactive elements which are found in the environment, including soil, water, and certain minerals.
In various industries, including oil and gas, mining, and chemical production, NORM can accumulate and pose health risks if not properly managed. It is essential for companies to implement safety measures and address cleaning challenges during normal operations and during decommissioning.
Understanding NORM is crucial for ensuring cleaning and decontamination meets with regulations and promotes safe operational practices.

DecomClear® NORM STRIP is specifically designed to dissolve sulphate and carbonate scales while safeguarding your equipment. The NORM is normally bound in the scale so removal of the cale in turn removes the NORM into the treatment solution.

After cleaning with DecomClear® NORM STRIP, DecomClear® NORM BIND is used to combat the challenges of grain embedded NORM in the petroleum and other industries. This advanced blend of chemicals not only has exceptional cleaning power but also prioritises safety and sustainability. It is non-toxic in nature, free from teratogenic, carcinogenic, and mutagenic effects. Its biodegradable into wastewater systems without disrupting treatment processes.

DecomClear® NORM FILTER is engineered for the removal of radioactive salts dissolved in water. It is intended to be used following DecomClear® NORM STRIP or DecomClear® NORM BIND cleaning operations as part of a comprehensive process to produce wastewater that is free of radioactivity.

DecomClear® Mercury CLEAR is a one-step aqueous cleaning and chelation formulation designed for offshore and onshore decommissioning operations. It removes elemental, ionic, and organically bound mercury from oil-wet and contaminated steel surfaces without requiring a separate degreasing stage.
